今朝、渋研のお仕事MLで3時間以上のメール遅延に遭遇。久しぶりだなあ、こんだけ長いの。
なにがあったのか気になったので、ヘッダを見てみたら、なんだか「-0700」なんてタイムゾーンを通ってきている。どこだこりゃ？ と調べてみたら、下記を発見。

しかし、そもそも今ってまだ夏時間なんでしょうか。ぼくの部屋、かなり寒いし＜関係ない
「夏時間」でググったらwikipediaがの筆頭でヒットしました。
主な地域の実施期間えー、アメリカ・カナダなら夏時間、ということは、MSTではなくPDTだと。カリフォルニアあたりからワシントン、はたまたメキシコはバハ・カリフォルニアとかのサーバーを通ってきちゃった、ってことなんですかね。
2007年現在。
・アメリカ合衆国（前述のとおり2007年から次のようにすでに変更され実行されている）、カナダ、メキシコ（一部除く） - 3月第2日曜日午前2時〜11月第1日曜日午前2時（現地時間基準。開始日には2時が3時になり、終了日は2時が再度1時になるため、開始日は1日が23時間、終了日は逆に25時間になる）
・ヨーロッパ各国（一部除く） - 3月最終日曜日午前1時〜10月最終日曜日午前1時（UTC基準）
・ロシア - 3月最終日曜日午前2時〜10月最終日曜日午前3時（現地時間基準）

あっ、なんだ、ヘッダの時間帯表示の後に、ちゃんと(PDT)と書かれているではないか。わしのバカ(;_;)
んーと、ヘッダを見るとPDTになってからはスムース。テキがカリフォルニアだとして夏時間なら時差は16時間と。カリフォルニアから帰ってくるときに3時間かかってしまった……ということかな？？？
3時間遅延の理由も、具体的にはどの辺りを通ってきたのかもいまだによくわかりませんが、どうやら常に太平洋をはるばるあちこち巡っているらしい（MLの投稿を複数見ると、ヘッダのRecievedに毎度いくつもPDTと書かれているので。googlegroupsだから当然か？）ことはわかりました。今回の寄り道は8カ所かな。回線バケツリレーの中の人もご苦労なことです(^^;;
